I am honored and pleased to support your most precious resources this academic school year. As a servant leader for the past 21 years, Principal Joram Regis has relentlessly built the capacity of students, teachers, and staff members. During his tenure in the United States Marines Corps, he developed a passion for teaching vulnerable students. He was blessed to begin his career at Norfolk Public Schools in Norfolk, Virginia.  

Principal Regis is currently enrolled in a doctoral program in Education Leadership at Bowie State University.  

In the past, Principal Regis has had the honor of leading in various academic roles including Teacher, Professional School Counselor, Academic Coach, Consultant, Instructional Supervisor of Pupil Personnel Services, Professor, Assistant Principal, and Principal. He has been recognized for turning around urban and suburban schools into high-performing schools. He speaks several languages including French and Creole.

In addition, he believes in supporting rigorous instruction for all students. I believe together we can “Achieve the Impossible”. His favorite quote is “We the willing are led by the unknowing we are doing the impossible for the ungrateful we have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing” (-Mother Teresa). We have a chance to change the future of children every day as faculty members, parents, and teachers. Please know we intend to make every effort to foster and cultivate this practice to ensure the continuous success of our students, school, teachers, and community. 

Principal Regis and his family recently transitioned back home to the Virginia area where their children will be attending school. He enjoys the outdoors, lifting weights, reading, spending time with his family, and cheering for our local school teams. Principal Regis plans on proactively supporting the needs of students and vulnerable families throughout the Richmond area. He believes in the value of servicing the community he lives in and is committed to ensuring continued organizational growth and development to meet the needs of each student. 

7th Grade Assistant Principal Michae' Jamison

Michae' Jamison is a seventeen year educator who began teaching at John F. Kennedy (now Armstrong) High School. Ms. Jamison has taught and written curricula for various History and Social Science programs within the division as well as internationally. Ms. Jamison served as the Teacher of the Year for Richmond Public Schools in 2008. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, Ms. Jamison served as the Diploma Programme Coordinator for the International Baccalaureate Programme at Thomas Jefferson High School. Ms. Jamison is a proud double alumni of Hampton University (go Pirates!), and has also completed post graduate work at Virginia Commonwealth University.

She brings over twenty years of experience as an educator. She received a bachelor’s of arts degree in Spanish at Christopher Newport University. A master of Education with an emphasis in secondary education and an Educational Specialist degree with an emphasis in Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University. She is currently in the doctoral program in Educational Leadership at Liberty University. In her five years as an administrator of River City Middle School (formally Elkhardt-Thompson Middle School), she is a servant leader that is about empowering scholars and staff through high expectations and tough love. Her number one priority is her scholars!

6th Grade Assistant Principal Christal Blue

Greeting River City Middle School community, as a career changer, Mrs. Blue-Fleming began her journey as an educator in Gainesville, Florida. Where she served for 10 years at SIATech Charter High School, during this time Mrs. Blue-Fleming held the position of high school History teacher and later moved into administration. During Christal’s time in Florida she created curriculum for the Social Science department focusing on American History and Economics.  Upon returning to Richmond, Christal continued her journey at Elkhardt-Thompson Middle school, where she proudly taught Civics/Economics and served as the Social Science department lead. Christal earned her B.A. in History/Minor in English from Valdosta State University while working full-time with the Florida Department of Corrections. This journey helped shape her philosophy and goals to create learning environments for all learners that center on relationship building while providing instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles. Christal also holds an M.A. in Education from the University of Phoenix. Some of her proudest movements as an educator are being awarded Teacher of the Year at SIATech Charter High School and Elkhardt-Thompson. Serving her students is the key to her heart.

Greetings River City Middle School Parents, Students, and Community Members, I am excited for the opportunity to serve you as the 8th grade  Dean of Academic Support and School Culture for the 2022-2023 school year. I am originally from Macedonia ( Europe) where I completed  my education until high school.  This will be my 1st year with RCMS, and my 4th with Richmond Public Schools. Throughout my career , I have served in the role of a child and adolescent therapist, a special education teacher and a behavior specialist in Highlands School Districts , PA, Hanover County Public Schools and Henrico County public schools.  

Working with students , families and schools have always been my passion.  I believe that building relationships with students, families and staff is a key for a successful school year. I  place high value on open communication, problem solving , collaboration with staff, parents, students and community members. 

 I believe that all students are capable of learning and being successful when we provide them high quality instruction that is equitable and engaging. I look forward to serving you this school year.
