Your proud principal hails from the mighty state of Texas where she began her journey that has spanned 22 years - 8 years in the bilingual classroom, 2 years as an instructional coach, 2 years as coordinator over Bilingual/ESL/LOTE, 10 years as a principal. All teaching years were at the elementary level, although the first two years of teaching 6th grade was elementary. She has earned her first 3 degrees in the state if Texas and will soon earn the final degree in the state of Virginia. She proudly represents her alma mater Southern Methodist University and her African-Haitian heritage. She is the proud mother of 3!

Michae' Jamison is a seventeen year educator who began teaching at John F. Kennedy (now Armstrong) High School. Ms. Jamison has taught and written curricula for various History and Social Science programs within the division as well as internationally. Ms. Jamison served as the Teacher of the Year for Richmond Public Schools in 2008. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, Ms. Jamison served as the Diploma Programme Coordinator for the International Baccalaureate Programme at Thomas Jefferson High School. Ms. Jamison is a proud double alumni of Hampton University (go Pirates!), and has also completed post graduate work at Virginia Commonwealth University.

I bring over fifteen years of experience as an educator. The past two years have been as 6th grade administrator and dean of school culture and academic behavior of Elkhardt-Thompson Middle School. Prior to ETMS I taught both middle and high school Spanish in Hampton City Schools. I received a bachelor’s of arts degree in Spanish at Christopher Newport University. A master of Education with an emphasis in secondary education and an Educational Specialist degree with an emphasis in Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University. As a parent of a 2020 college and high school graduate and a second grader just beginning her journey in the educational system, I understand the significance the transition into middle school, into high school, and life beyond high school is for our students and families.

Greetings River City Middle School Parents, Students, and Community Members, I am excited for the opportunity to serve you as the 7th grade Dean of Academic Support and School Culture for the 2021-2022 school year. I am originally from Macedonia ( Europe) where I completed my education until high school. This will be my 1st year with RCMS, and my 4th with Richmond Public Schools. Throughout my career , I have served in the role of a child and adolescent therapist, a special education teacher and a behavior specialist in Highlands School Districts , PA, Hanover County Public Schools and Henrico County public schools.
Working with students , families and schools have always been my passion. I believe that building relationships with students, families and staff is a key for a successful school year. I place high value on open communication, problem solving , collaboration with staff, parents, students and community members.
I believe that all students are capable of learning and being successful when we provide them high quality instruction that is equitable and engaging. I look forward to serving you this school year.
